Yeah, seriously. Last week a billion dollar joint venture between NBCU and FOX called Hulu.com was launched. Dan and I checked out the site and Dan quickly posted a little page on our own Website that allowed us to play full length videos streamed directly from Hulu’s servers.
The next day, I received a call from a reporter at thestreet.com, who asked what our affiliation with Hulu was and asked about the page Dan posted on the Premity Website. I talked to him briefly, letting him know what we do and that we were really just playing around with Hulu, we’re not even part of the private beta.
Today Dan pointed me to an article posted on thestreet.com, in which I’m quoted. The article is entitled “Hulu’s Code Quickly Cracked.” Another fun article looks to be largely taken from the original thestreet.com article, and is called “Private Beta Not So Private: Ad-Free Hulu Clips Disseminated.” I must say, at least I’m quoted correctly, even if I didn’t know that I was actually being interviewed.
This dude proves that bloggers have no need for anything called “fact checking” or “going to the source,” by writing an amusing post, even if it is riddled with inaccuracies. In his article he calls the page Dan had posted for our own use “a play for publicity” and refers to us as “jerks.”
This guy also posted the original article from thestreet.com on his blog and has the same fashion sense that Short does.

Now, if only we could be written about for actually contributing something to the Internet…
Is that Short?
